Welcome to the Town of Stilesville!
“ A great place to call home ”
Settled in 1823, before the National Road reached western Indiana, Stilesville is a small friendly town . The founder was Jeremiah Stiles.
It is our privilege to welcome you to the website of Stilesville, Indiana. This is your link to your local town government.
Every four years, residents in Stilesville select a three-member Town Council and a Clerk-Treasurer. All council members are considered “at large” which means all Stilesville Town residents (registered voters) vote on all council positions. The town council elects a council president each year. The Town Council holds the legislative and executive powers for the Town, and the clerk-treasurer is responsible for the matters related to the Town’s finances.
Here you will find how to contact the Council Members, Clerk-Treasurer, read important notices, and report on-line about code violations, burned out street lights, potholes, etc.
Agendas and minutes, along with public and legal notices will be posted on the website.
Our town council has been challenged with projects for our community. Currently we are working on plans for upgrading sewer plant, sidewalks, and building community involvement.
Town Council meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and entertains Public Comments on the agenda at the beginning of the meeting.
The Town Council is very excited about the new website and bringing to the community, information about local services and opportunities for you to learn about your local government.
